I wrote this song soon after the death of my moms long time boyfriend, Gary, and finished writing it and recorded it this year. He was a huge part of my life from I was 4/5 all the way up until he died, when I was 16. He was an amazing person, a wonderful father figure to me, an incredible partner to my mom, and a fabulous trumpet player. He was practical, goofy, funny, creative, talented, smart, kind hearted and so much more. I miss him everyday and I hope my song can help others going through a similar situation.
